Every Lean thinker has an origin story. Mine involves three movies from the 1990s that — long before I ever heard the words 'value stream' or 'kaizen' — planted the seeds of how I now see work.

This isn't a listicle. It's a reflection on how culture, not just training, shapes the way we approach process, waste, and the very idea of continuous improvement.
